| Obverse description | Bare-headed, bearded bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, depicted draped and cuirassed, with the paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The portrait exhibits the characteristic full beard and wavy hair rendered with fine engraving typical of Hadrianic imperial coinage. The circumferential Latin legend runs around the periphery of the flan. The effigy is presented in the three-quarter rear view, a portrait convention employed on certain issues of this reign. |
