| Obverse description | Bare-shouldered, laureate bust of the emperor Hadrian facing right, rendered with characteristic beard and strong, individualized portraiture typical of Hadrianic coinage. The effigy is depicted with a laurel wreath bound with a fillet, whose ties are visible behind the neck. The circumferential Latin legend is distributed around the periphery of the flan, partially obscured by wear and the coin's irregular edge. The overall style reflects the high artistic quality of Roman imperial bronze coinage of the late Hadrianic period. |

| Obverse lettering | HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P (Translation: Hadrianus Augustus, Consul Tertium, Pater Patriae. Hadrian, emperor (Augustus), consul for the third time, father of the nation.) |
| Reverse description | The personification of Aequitas, goddess of equity and fair dealing, stands erect facing left in the field, draped in a long flowing chiton and himation. In her outstretched right hand she holds a pair of scales, the attribute of balanced justice, while her left hand rests upon a long vertical sceptre or cornucopiae. The reverse legend AEQVITAS AVG is disposed around the upper and lateral field, with the senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consultum) flanking the figure in the lower field, affirming the senate's sanction of this bronze coinage issue. |
