| Obverse description | Bare-headed, draped bust of Hadrian facing right, rendered with his characteristic full beard and curled hair, viewed from the rear or side in a three-quarter perspective. The effigy displays the emperor's paludamentum fastened at the shoulder, with finely modelled facial features including the distinctive Hadrianic beard. The surrounding circular legend in Latin reads HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P, distributed around the periphery of the flan. The portrait exhibits the high-relief, idealized Hellenistic style favored during Hadrian's reign, with the legend partially legible on the worn surface. |
