| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder with the drapery rendered in fine detail. The portrait exhibits the characteristic Hadrianic style with a full beard and curly hair crowned by a laurel wreath. The peripheral legend HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P is inscribed in relief around the bust, reading clockwise from the lower left. The effigy displays the accomplished portraiture typical of the Antonine period, with strong facial modeling and naturalistic treatment of hair and beard. |
