Reverse description The two-line inscription DIVOS / IVLIVS is displayed in bold Roman lettering within the field, enclosed by a finely rendered open laurel wreath whose branches sweep upward symmetrically from the base and meet at the apex, the tips tied together. The wreath, a symbol of divine honour and apotheosis, frames the legend referencing the officially deified Julius Caesar. A border of dots encircles the entire reverse design. The composition is deliberately simple, lending monumental weight to the proclamation of Caesar's divinity.
