Obverse description Bare head of Octavian facing right, rendered in a somewhat archaizing provincial style characteristic of Gallic colonial mints. The portrait features short, lightly striated hair swept forward over the brow, with a strong jaw and aquiline profile. The surrounding field is worn, with traces of the Latin legend partially visible along the periphery. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, typical of hammered provincial bronze coinage of this period.
