Obverse description Radiate bust of Nero facing right, draped at the shoulder, rendered in a robust portrait style characteristic of the early Neronian period. The emperor's effigy displays his distinctive broad facial features with curling hair arranged in layered locks across the forehead and nape. The encircling legend reads NERO CLAVD CAESAR AVG GER P M TR P IMP P P in Latin capitals, running clockwise around the periphery of the flan. The portrait occupies the central field with confident die engraving typical of the Rome mint's production under Nero.
