Obverse description Draped and veiled bust of Livia, personified as Pietas, facing right, wearing a stephane; the veil falls prominently over the shoulders in characteristic Roman matron style. The portrait is rendered in high relief with delicate facial features conveying idealized, serene dignity. The field to the right is plain, with the legend PIETAS inscribed in a recessed tablet or cartouche across the lower portion of the design, below the truncation of the bust. A beaded border frames the entire obverse field.
