| Obverse description | Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, with a short beard rendered in fine detail, characteristic of the emperor's well-known iconography. The radiate crown, composed of pointed rays, identifies the denomination as a dupondius. The bust is shown with paludamentum fastened at the right shoulder, conveying imperial and military authority. The encircling Latin legend reads IMP CAESAR TRAIAN HADRIANVS AVG P M TR P COS III, running clockwise along the coin's border. The portrait is executed in the high-relief, naturalistic style typical of the early Hadrianic period at the Rome Mint. |
