Obverse description Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Gordian III facing right, portrayed with youthful features. The emperor wears a radiate crown with pronounced spikes and elaborate military dress with paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The surrounding Latin legend reads IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, running clockwise within a beaded border. The portrait is rendered in the typical provincial workshop style of Moesia Superior, exhibiting bold, slightly stylized relief characteristic of Viminacium coinage.
