Reverse description The personification of Pax depicted as a draped, standing female figure facing left, holding an olive branch extended in her right hand and a caduceus in her left hand. The senatorial authorization mark S C (Senatus Consulto) appears in the field to either side of the figure at mid-height. The legend PAX AVGVSTA is inscribed around the periphery of the flan. The reverse composition is characteristic of the Augustan peace iconography revived under Galba's short reign as a statement of legitimacy and political stability.
