Obverse description Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Domitian facing right, rendered in high relief. The radiate crown, a distinguishing feature of the dupondius denomination, surmounts the emperor's head. The Latin legend encircles the effigy within a beaded border, reading IMP CAES DIVI VESP F DOMITIAN AVG P M, proclaiming his imperial titles and divine lineage as son of the deified Vespasian. The portrait exhibits the robust, idealized style characteristic of Flavian imperial coinage struck at the Rome mint.
