| Obverse description | Radiate bust of Domitian facing right, draped at the shoulder, with the emperor's characteristic curly hair rendered in fine detail. The effigy is rendered in high relief against a plain field. The encircling legend reads IMP CAES DIVI VESP F DOMITIAN AVG P M in bold Latin capitals, distributed around the periphery of the flan within a beaded border. The portrait conveys the authoritative, slightly fleshy physiognomy characteristic of Flavian imperial coinage. |
