Reverse description Military trophy composition featuring two oval shields crossed diagonally over a pair of crossed spears and two crossed trumpets (tubae), with a vexillum (military standard) erected upright at the centre. The design is rendered in bold, slightly crude relief characteristic of Flavian bronze coinage. The senatorial mark of authority S C (Senatus Consultum) is placed in the lower field, to the left and right of the central motif respectively. The overall composition is symmetrical and conveys strong martial symbolism befitting Domitian's military campaigns.
