Obverse description Bare radiate head of Divus Augustus facing left, rendered in a classical portrait style with fine facial detail. The effigy displays the idealized features associated with Augustan portraiture, including a strong jaw and softly defined brow. The radiate crown, symbol of divine or solar status, frames the head with evenly spaced points. The encircling legend DIVVS AVGVSTVS PATER runs clockwise around the periphery in clear Latin capitals. The field is relatively plain, with the portrait occupying the central area of the flan.
