Reverse description The large senatorial monogram S C (Senatus Consultum) dominates the open field at center, boldly struck in high relief, flanked by ample flat ground on either side. The moneyer's legend encircles the design in a continuous inscription running around the periphery of the flan, identifying the issuing magistrate in the standard formulaic manner of Augustan bronze coinage.
