Obverse description Bare head of Augustus facing left, rendered in a restrained, classicizing style typical of Augustan provincial coinage. The portrait displays fine facial features with close-cropped hair, conveying imperial authority without the use of a laurel wreath or diadem. The surrounding legend reads PERM CAES AVG, distributed around the field, indicating the coin was struck by permission of Caesar Augustus. The flan is slightly irregular, consistent with provincial hammered production.
