| Obverse description | Crowned bust of Jan II Kazimierz Waza facing right, wearing armor with a fur-trimmed mantle, the royal crown set above the effigy. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery of the flan. The portrait is rendered in the baroque style typical of mid-seventeenth-century Polish hammered gold coinage, with fine detail in the facial features and regalia. |
