Obverse description Right-facing crowned bust of King Michał Korybut Wiśniowiecki, wearing a royal crown surmounted by a cross, with long flowing curly hair and a draped mantle. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine baroque detail. The encircling Latin legend reads MICHAEL D G REX POL M D L R P, identifying the king by name and title as King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania.

Reverse description Central oval shield bearing the arms of Gdańsk — two crosses above and below a royal crown on a divided field — supported by two rampant lions. Above the shield, a decorative floral spray issues from the top of the cartouche. The mintmaster's initials D·L appear below the shield. The date 1672 is placed in the upper left field. The surrounding Latin legend reads MON·AUREA·CIVITAT·GEDANENS, identifying this as a gold coin of the city of Gdańsk.
