| Obverse description | Central field bears the two-line Latin inscription HOL / LANDIA with the date below, all enclosed within a wreath composed of tulip blossoms, oak sprigs, and floral ornaments. The wreath is tied at the base with a decorative floral element and terminates at the apex with a prominent bloom. The entire design is further framed by a raised beaded border, characteristic of hammered coinage of the Dutch Republic period. The lettering is rendered in bold roman capitals, slightly irregular in spacing as expected of hand-struck production. |

| Reverse description | The Dutch maiden (Hollandia), a personification of the Province of Holland, is depicted seated facing, wearing a plumed helmet and holding a crowned shield bearing the arms of Holland before her body. Her right arm is raised, and she is shown within an enclosed garden or hortus conclusus, symbolising the protected sovereignty of the province. The circular Latin legend runs around the periphery, interrupted by decorative rosette stops, and the whole design is bounded by a beaded border consistent with hammered manufacture. The figure's drapery and the surrounding garden elements are rendered in the robust, somewhat naive style typical of early seventeenth-century Dutch provincial coinage. |
