| Reverse description | Central device consists of a quartered heraldic shield bearing the Gelderland arms — four rampant lions arranged in the four quarters — surmounted by an elaborate mural crown with jewelled arches. The shield is flanked by ornamental scrolled supporters and rests on a decorative base with pellets. The circular legend, abbreviated as · IN · DEO · · SP · NOST ·, is distributed around the shield in the field, reading 'In God is our hope.' The entire composition is set within a plain border with a finely toothed rim visible on the coin's edge. |
