Obverse description The provincial name HOLLANDIA is inscribed in three lines across the central field, divided as HOL / LAN / DIA, surrounded by an ornate wreath composed of laurel and floral branches tied at the base with a flower rosette and surmounted by a prominent floral ornament at the apex. The wreath features delicate blossoms and berry clusters at the sides, framing the inscription in a decorative cartouche style characteristic of early Dutch Republic coinage. The coin's edge is bordered by a beaded inner circle. The overall execution reflects the fine craftsmanship associated with the Dordrecht Mint during the early seventeenth century.
