Obverse description Central field bears the Latin inscription TRAS / ISVLA / NIA / 1628 arranged in four lines, abbreviating Transisulania, the Latin name for Overijssel. The legend is enclosed within a wreath of laurel or olive branches adorned with small floral rosettes at the top and bottom, rendered in a bold, somewhat crude hammered style typical of provincial Dutch copper coinage of the early seventeenth century. The date appears at the foot of the inscription within the wreath. The coin's irregular flan and uneven strike are characteristic of hammered production.
