Obverse description Armored and draped bust of Federico Landi facing right, wearing an elaborate ruffled lace collar and richly decorated armor with a prominent gorget and shoulder pauldron, rendered in fine high-relief engraving consistent with early 17th-century Italian medallic tradition. The effigy displays a bearded, mature portrait of the prince with naturalistic facial detail. The circular Latin legend surrounds the bust within a beaded inner border, reading D. FED. LAN. S. R. I. AC. VALL. TARI. PRIN. IV. ET C. O.G, identifying Federico Landi as Lord and Prince of Val di Taro and Ceno and Count of Compiano. The field is smooth and unadorned, allowing the portrait to dominate the composition.
