Obverse description A fully armoured knight on horseback faces right, sword raised aloft in the right hand, the horse rearing dramatically in the center of the coin field. The rider wears a plumed helmet and full plate armour in the Dutch baroque style, with the horse depicted in vigorous motion. Below the horse, a crowned shield bearing the arms of West Friesland (three lions passant) is prominently displayed in the lower field. The entire central design is enclosed within an inner circle, with the circumferential Latin legend running between the inner circle and the milled border.
