| Obverse description | A fully armored knight on a charging horse to right, brandishing an unsheathed sword aloft with the right hand. The arms of Overijssel appear beneath the horse in the lower field. The circular legend, struck in Latin, runs along the periphery and terminates with the privy mark of the issuing mint. The bold, high-relief equestrian figure gives the type its popular designation as the 'Silver Rider,' a hallmark of Dutch provincial coinage of the period. |
