Obverse description Draped bust of Philip IV facing right, wearing an elaborate lace ruff collar and armour with heraldic ornamentation on the breastplate, set within a beaded inner circle. The portrait is rendered in a robust, late-Renaissance style characteristic of Burgundian hammered coinage. The Latin legend encircles the effigy, incorporating the date divided around the upper field. The coin exhibits the irregular flan shape typical of hammered production.
