Obverse description Nine lines of Latin inscription occupying the entire field, with no central device, presenting a purely epigraphic design. The legend is struck in neat Roman capital lettering across the full face of the coin, recording the titles and coronation of Leopold II as King of the Romans at Frankfurt on 9 October 1790. The text is arranged in a balanced, stacked format with separating dots between words and abbreviated titles. The plain field surrounding the inscription is unadorned, and the coin exhibits a milled edge border visible at the periphery.
