Reverse description The reverse features the Russian Imperial double-headed eagle displayed, with wings spread and each head surmounted by a crown, a third large imperial crown above uniting them. The eagle bears an orb and scepter in its talons and displays a shield on its breast. The design is boldly struck in high relief, consistent with the Western European ducat tradition. A circular Latin legend surrounds the eagle, reading IMP·M · DVX · MOSCOVIAE · 1716, identifying the issuer as Emperor and Grand Duke of Muscovy, with the date 1716 positioned to the right of the eagle.
