Obverse description Right-facing laureate and draped bust of Tsar Peter I (Peter the Great) occupying the central field, rendered in high relief in the Western European Baroque portrait style characteristic of early 18th-century Russian coinage. The effigy displays finely engraved hair curling naturally over the nape, with the tsar wearing an armoured or robed garment with a prominent turned collar. The Cyrillic legend ЦРЬ ПЕТРЬ АЛЕѮИЕВIЧЬ (Tsar Peter Alexeyevich) is disposed around the bust, divided left and right of the portrait.
