| Obverse description | Composite quartered coat of arms incorporating the arms of Homoet, Boxmeer, Hedel, and Stevensweert, with the arms of Bergh as a surtout (inescutcheon) at the center. The shield is set within the field, with the date divided on either side, the last two digits (77) appearing below. The surrounding Latin legend, separated by rosette stops, identifies the issuer by his full titular style. The die work is characteristic of the late sixteenth-century Netherlands hammered gold coinage, with a beaded inner border framing the heraldic composition. |
