| Obverse description | Central field features the gateway (castle gate) of Genoa, flanked by the doge's initials L and C, all contained within a polylobe frame decorated with trefoils at each interior point. A beaded circle surrounds the polylobe. The Genoese gateway motif is rendered in the characteristic late medieval hammered style, with the initials positioned symmetrically to either side of the architectural device. The outer legend, running along the coin's periphery, identifies the issuing doge and his regnal number in abbreviated Latin. |

| Reverse description | A cross pattée occupies the centre of a polylobe frame, with trefoils decorating each interior point of the lobe, the whole enclosed within a beaded circle. The bold cross pattée is rendered in the characteristic Genoese medieval style, its splayed arms fitting neatly within the lobed border. The circumferential legend invokes Conrad, King of the Romans, maintaining the long-established Genoese numismatic tradition of acknowledging the Holy Roman Emperor as suzerain. The legend terminates with the initial A, identifying the responsible mint official. |
