Reverse description A cross pattée is centrally displayed within a multifoil (polylobe) frame decorated with trefoils at each interior cusp, enclosed by a beaded circle. The surrounding Latin uncial legend invokes Conrad, King of the Romans — a traditional formulaic reference retained from earlier Genoese coinage — and terminates with a mint official's initial mark, which varies by issue. The overall design closely mirrors the obverse in its decorative framework, lending the coin a symmetrical, Gothic character typical of late medieval Italian gold coinage.
