Obverse description Draped bust of Friedrich Christian, Electoral Prince of Saxony, facing right, with curled hair and lace cravat in the baroque court style. The effigy is rendered in fine relief with delicate facial detail characteristic of mid-18th century Saxon minting artistry. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait reading FRID. CHRISTIANUS D. G. SAX. I. C. & MONT. S. R. I. ARCHIM. & ELECT., denoting his titles as Elector of the Holy Roman Empire. The field is smooth and slightly convex, typical of the ducat format struck at the Dresden Mint.
