Obverse description Enthroned frontal figure of Emperor Charles IV, crowned and robed in imperial vestments, holding an upright scepter in his right hand and an orb in his left. The figure is seated upon a throne with visible decorative elements at its base. The surrounding field is occupied by a Gothic uncial legend reading .S. CAROLVS – IMPERAT` F I, separated by the enthroned figure. The overall style is characteristic of late medieval hammered gold coinage, with bold relief and a beaded inner border.
