| Obverse description | Standing figure of Saint John the Baptist on the left, nimbed and robed, extending his right hand in blessing toward the Grand Master Dieudonné de Gozon, who kneels in a posture of devotion on the right. The Grand Master is shown in profile wearing a mantle, receiving investiture or blessing from the saint. The two figures face each other across the coin's field in the traditional Venetian ducat style. A circular beaded border frames the composition, with the abbreviated Latin legend distributed around the periphery identifying the Grand Master by name. |
