Reverse description The reverse depicts the Blessed Nicholas of Flüe (Niklaus von Flüe), patron saint of Switzerland, shown kneeling in three-quarter view facing right in a rocky alpine landscape, his hands clasped in prayer and holding a rosary with a cross pendant. Rays of divine light descend upon him from the upper right, and rugged mountain outcrops flank his figure in the field. The mint master's initials I·H appear at the bottom of the field. The circular legend B·NICOLAUS VON FLUE runs along the upper periphery within a beaded border, rendered in the devotional Baroque style characteristic of Swiss cantonal coinage.
