| Obverse description | Facing bust of Christ Pantocrator in Byzantine style, depicted nimbate with a cruciform nimbus ornamented with pellets, rendered in high relief against a flat field. Christ is shown draped in imperial robes, raising his right hand in a gesture of benediction, the features rendered in the hieratic manner characteristic of Norman-Sicilian court art.
