| Obverse description | Draped bust of Yazdgard I facing right, wearing an elaborate mural crown surmounted by a globe and crescent finial, with voluminous curled hair cascading behind the head. The king is depicted with a full beard rendered in detailed ringlets, and wears a beaded necklace at the shoulder. A beaded inner border encircles the effigy, itself surrounded by a finely executed dotted outer border following the irregular flan edge. The portrait displays the characteristic high-relief Sasanian royal style, projecting regal authority through the imposing headdress and refined facial features. |
