| Obverse description | Geometric mosaic design composed of four stylized swastika-like or triskele-derived motifs arranged in a cruciform pattern, dividing the flat field into quadrants. Each quadrant features a curved appendage terminating in a pellet, creating a highly abstracted rotational composition characteristic of late Gaulish coinage. The design is deeply struck in low relief on an irregularly shaped flan with no legend or inscription. The overall aesthetic reflects the abstract Celtic artistic tradition, derived from a distant prototype of a helmeted or laureate head reduced to pure geometric ornament. |
