| Obverse description | Jugate busts facing right of Wahram II, wearing a winged crown surmounted by a korymbos, and his queen, wearing a kolah adorned with a boar's head, both rendered in profile. Opposite them, in vis-a-vis arrangement, appears the bust of a prince wearing a kolah bearing an eagle's head. The composition reflects the dynastic and hierarchical nature of Sasanian royal portraiture, with crisp rendering of the distinctive crown types that serve as identifying attributes of each figure. Inscriptional Pahlavi legends appear in the field. |
