| Obverse description | Bust of Wahram II facing right, depicted with a distinctive globular crown surmounted by a large orb, adorned with elaborate ribbons and a diadem; the king wears a beaded torque necklace and a richly decorated garment. The face is rendered with a pronounced beard of carefully depicted curls, and a large drop earring hangs from the visible ear. A secondary smaller bust, likely a consort or deity, appears behind the king's right shoulder, a characteristic feature of Wahram II coinage. The entire portrait is enclosed within a beaded border, with the Inscriptional Pahlavi legend surrounding the effigy in the field. |
