| Obverse description | Diademed and radiate bust of Vahram I (Varhran I) facing right, wearing a distinctive radiate crown surmounted by a korymbos (hair-globe), with pellets placed above and below the diadem ties. A double-line Pahlavi legend appears in the field behind the royal effigy, identifying the king. The portrait is rendered in the characteristic Sasanian idiom, with bold facial features and elaborate regalia indicative of early Sasanian coinage. |
