Obverse description Diademed head of the usurper king Timarchos facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic portrait tradition with individualized features. The diadem is tied at the back of the head with the ends falling behind the neck, a hallmark of Hellenistic royal iconography. The portrait displays a bearded visage with strong, naturalistic facial modeling characteristic of Seleucid royal coinage of the mid-2nd century BC. The field is plain, with no additional symbols or inscriptions on this side.
