Obverse description Helmeted and draped bust of the Indo-Parthian ruler Tanlis Mardates facing right, depicted in the Hellenistic tradition with a crested helmet and visible neck guard. The portrait is rendered in low relief with a strong profile, characteristic of the regional hammered coinage of the period. A Greek legend runs along the upper and right periphery of the flan within a dotted border.
