Additional information

The "Soter Megas" — Great Savior — title appears on a series of Kushan issues attributed to an unnamed king, a fact that has generated substantial scholarly debate for over a century. The ruler has never been conclusively identified, with candidates ranging from Vima Takto to a viceroy acting under Parthian authority. The anonymity was almost certainly deliberate, suggesting either a disputed succession or a ruler whose legitimacy required a title rather than a name.

Small copper fractions of this type circulated heavily in the northwestern frontier regions and show it accordingly.
