| Obverse description | Right-facing draped bust of Shapur II wearing his distinctive tall, elaborate mural crown surmounted by a korymbos (hair globe) and adorned with a crescent and star; the king displays a long, carefully coiffed beard with rows of curls, and wears a beaded necklace and torque indicative of royal status.
