Obverse description Facing bust of Phraates III, diademed, with long curled hair falling to the shoulders and a full beard, rendered in a distinctive frontal portrait style characteristic of late Parthian coinage. The king wears a jewelled diadem and a draped garment adorned at the neckline with a beaded necklace suspending a circular medallion. The facial features are finely modelled with individualistic detail, conveying a portrait of regal authority. The broad flan exhibits a radiating fabric texture in the field surrounding the effigy.
