Obverse description Bust of Phraates III facing left, depicted with a long, elaborately curled beard rendered in a distinctive beaded or corkscrew style characteristic of late Parthian portraiture. The king wears a royal diadem and a tiara or soft cap adorned with a series of pellets or beaded decoration along its lower edge. The portrait is rendered in high relief with strong artistic attention to the facial features, including a prominent nose and defined brow. The hair is arranged in multiple tightly coiled ringlets falling behind the ear, and the drapery of the royal garment is visible at the shoulder. No legend appears on the obverse.
