| Reverse description | Arsakes I, the dynastic ancestor, seated in three-quarter view to the right upon an omphalos throne, holding a strung bow in his right hand, a standard Parthian dynastic reverse type. The figure is clad in Parthian dress with elaborate beaded ornamentation. A full Greek legend arranged in two vertical columns flanks the enthroned figure on either side, reading the full royal titulature of Phraates II. The design is enclosed within a plain circular border, with the field exhibiting the characteristic broad flat flan of early Parthian silver coinage. |
